Sr Architect

Senior Architect on Twilio's Emerging Technologies Experimentation Team, focused on fraud detection/governance. Designs, prototypes, and leads implementation of scalable AI/ML solutions and next-gen innovations (e.g. agent-native channels, A2H protocols) that can scale to production.

Responsibilities

Architect and prototype scalable, high-performance solutions using modern technologies.
Experiment and iterate on new product ideas, leveraging AI, machine learning, and emerging tech.
Lead technical direction, guiding and mentoring engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Partner cross-functionally to align prototypes with business opportunities and strategic goals.
Mentor a group of software development engineers across US and India.
Communicate technical vision and results clearly to stakeholders and executive leadership.

Qualifications

Required:

15+ years in architecture or principal engineering roles within innovative, fast-paced environments.
Applied fraud detection and governance framework experience.
Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and LLMs with experience deploying models or AI-driven projects.
Demonstrated success designing large-scale, high-performance architectures across AWS & Azure.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with proven ability to drive technical direction.
Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, Go).
Experience with both front-end (React, Angular) and back-end (Node.js, Spring, SpringBoot) development.
Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and their tradeoffs.

Track record of rapid prototyping and iterative product development.
Exposure to distributed systems and high-reliability platforms.
Knowledge of risk management best practices in experimental projects.

Compensation

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C.: $207,200.00 - $259,000.00
Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $219,360.00 - $274,200.00
Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $248,400.00 - 304,600.00
