Responsibilities
- Develop foundational Safeguards systems, including infrastructure for data storage and management, metric and evaluation systems, and tooling for human and agentic review.
- Ensure the day-to-day operation of Safeguards systems while maintaining a high operational bar for safety and customers and reducing required human intervention and oversight.
- Build robust, reliable, multilayered defenses that enable real-time improvement of safety mechanisms at scale.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable professional experience.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Ability to work across the stack.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- 7+ years of experience in a software engineering position.
- Experience building trust and safety, anti-spam, fraud, or abuse detection and mitigation mechanisms and interventions for AI/ML systems.
- Experience building metrics and measurement systems or data and privacy management systems.
- Experience working closely with operational teams to build custom internal tooling.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or Rust.
- Experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools.
Compensation and benefits
- Annual salary: £325,000–£395,000 GBP.
