Electrical Engineer

Design and bring consumer electronic products from prototype through mass production, covering mixed-signal circuitry, PCB design, testing, and reliability. The role is intended for a new graduate with a BSEE or equivalent and requires on-site work in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Design consumer electronic devices incorporating microcontrollers, SoCs, wireless transceivers, motor drivers, sensors, audio drivers, and LED drivers.
  • Prototype new concepts to assess feasibility, including Arduino-based prototypes.
  • Support designs through schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, characterization, production test coverage, and reliability testing.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, embedded software, industrial design, manufacturing, and product teams.
  • Define testing requirements, fixtures, and equipment to qualify components and assemblies for mass production.
  • Travel to Asia as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience with mixed analog and digital design and layout.
  • Familiarity with ECAD packages such as Altium or OrCAD.
  • Knowledge of SMT and flex PCB manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of design of experiments (DOE), root-cause analysis, statistical analysis, and quality measurement techniques.
  • BSEE or equivalent.

  • Annual salary: $100,000-$130,000 USD.
