Mechanical Engineering Intern

Design and build semiconductor fabrication equipment through rapid prototyping, mechanical analysis, and interdisciplinary engineering. The internship requires hands-on electromechanical design experience, a project portfolio, and pursuit of an engineering degree.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and build semiconductor fabrication equipment.
  • Create mechanical drawings and documentation.
  • Perform detailed analysis and simulations to evaluate electromechanical designs.
  • Drive prototypes into production in collaboration with manufacturing and supply chain teams.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering.
  • Ability to learn quickly and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Hands-on prototyping experience and ability to move through design cycles quickly.
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly design and analysis through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering, including CAD, simulation, and materials selection.
  • Portfolio demonstrating built projects is required.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing, including ALD, CVD, PVD, and photolithography.
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering, including PCB design, microcontrollers, embedded systems, and digital circuits.
  • Experience in optical engineering, precision machine design, or vacuum systems.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly compensation equivalent to an annualized range of $108,000–$126,000, depending on experience and education.
