Electrical Engineering Intern, High Frequency Power Electronics

Design, prototype, test, and help manufacture compact RF power systems for semiconductor plasma applications. The internship requires hands-on RF systems experience, power amplifier and measurement-sensor design, and demonstrated ability to build complex hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Design complete RF power systems from architecture through schematic and layout.
  • Ensure accurate RF power diagnostics and metrology.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to gather system requirements.
  • Help define firmware requirements.
  • Source components and lead manufacturing efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience building RF systems.
  • Experience designing RF resonant power amplifiers in the hundreds-of-watts range.
  • Experience designing RF power measurement sensors.
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
  • Cable harness design, documentation, and fabrication experience.
  • Portfolio demonstrating built systems, such as a medium- to high-complexity personal project or prior internship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in power electronics or a related field.
  • Plasma systems experience.
  • Systems engineering and integration experience.

Compensation and benefits

  • Hourly internship rate equivalent to an annualized range of $108,000-$126,000, depending on experience and education.
