Facilities Engineer

The Facilities Engineer designs, commissions, operates, and maintains critical facilities and utilities while managing multidisciplinary construction and capital projects. The role requires an engineering bachelor’s degree, at least two years of relevant experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of site development projects, collaborating with on-site groups and aligning schedules with operations.
  • Manage contractors, including requests for proposals, specifications, supplier selection, and contract close-out.
  • Provide technical engineering support to ensure construction and maintenance comply with applicable standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Commission, operate, and maintain facilities with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Verify preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for HVAC, high-power systems, cranes, lighting, doors, roofs, security systems, and fire protection systems.
  • Develop cost estimates, material requisitions, plans, and specifications for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Prepare and coordinate capital expenditure processes, ensuring project specifications, budgets, and deadlines are met.
  • Communicate building and maintenance activities and schedules to personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and maintain readiness procedures for hurricanes and environmental threats.
  • Coordinate building permits and ensure certificates and final inspections are obtained before project close-out.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in facilities engineering and/or construction.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel to other project sites.
  • Availability to work extended hours and weekends.

Nice-to-Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, including electrical, HVAC, and/or structural systems, and facility construction involving buildings, roads, drainage, and foundations.
  • Ability to independently manage technically complex projects.
  • Experience reviewing and approving shop and fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to produce fabrication drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Experience operating boom lifts, man lifts, forklifts, and cranes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

  • Occasional exposure to extreme outdoor environments, fumes, odors, and noise.
