Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, onboard, coach, mentor, and grow a diverse team of Solutions Architects supporting the Startups segment.
- Partner with Sales and other Field Engineering teams to increase revenue and help customers succeed with Databricks’ Data Intelligence Platform.
- Maintain a strong hiring pipeline and develop high-performing technical pre-sales professionals.
- Keep the team current on the Databricks technology stack through continuous learning.
- Establish relationships with internal teams and external systems integrators (SIs) and independent software vendors (ISVs).
- Lead best practices for technical qualification, technical validations, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
- Foster collaboration across Field Engineering, Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
- Influence and review complex architectures, guiding teams and customers toward scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring.
- 10+ years of experience in the data space with a technical product, such as data warehousing, big data, machine learning, or generative AI.
- Experience advising technical executives on strategic data infrastructure decisions.
- Experience hiring, developing, and promoting high-performing technical talent.
- Strong understanding of consumption-driven business models and long-term growth strategies.
- Technical depth sufficient to earn the trust of engineering talent and leadership.
