Backend Engineer
Build and operate scalable backend APIs, databases, and data pipelines supporting a cloud-native video security platform. The role emphasizes reliability, observability, performance optimization, and collaboration with front-end, edge-computing, and machine learning teams.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement APIs, databases, and data pipelines.
- Ensure systems scale with growing traffic, maintain full observability, and reduce costs.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for feature delivery, maintain high SLAs, and debug issues.
- Support front-end, edge-computing, and machine learning teams.
Requirements
- Experience building systems at a reasonable scale.
- Experience with Go or Python.
- Experience designing, implementing, debugging, scaling, and optimizing APIs, databases, and pipelines as traffic grows to multi-terabyte scale.
- Experience working with distributed teams across time zones.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in an onsite environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Pulumi and AWS.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana.
- Experience with authentication platforms such as Auth0.
