Responsibilities
- Partner with the Chief of Staff to execute business operations initiatives across departments.
- Prepare investor-relations materials, participate in investor pitches, and build financial models to support growth.
- Build prototypes, automate workflows, and use SQL to extract insights from data.
- Review legal documents, conduct due diligence, and support negotiation of commercial terms with partners and vendors.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects, maintain priorities, and help unblock teams.
- Support office operations and coordinate marketing campaigns or social content as needed.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in operations, finance, consulting, or a high-growth startup environment.
- Proficiency with SQL and advanced financial modeling using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to understand legal documents and comfort with, or willingness to learn, commercial negotiations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, execution-oriented approach and comfort wearing multiple hats.
- Comfort with Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace, plus interest in building prototypes or testing internal tools.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-person startup environment in Toronto.
Nice to Have
- FinTech or high-growth technology experience.
- Investment banking, venture capital, or management consulting experience.
- Experience building processes from scratch within small, agile teams.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: CAD$60,000–80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
- Equity of 0.01–0.05%.
- Three weeks of vacation.
- Group health benefits after the probation period.
