Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and develop precision electromechanical and optical components and systems.
- Build new systems and integrate off-the-shelf products, including motion stages and metrology equipment.
- Perform detailed analysis and simulations to evaluate system designs and meet constraints.
- Assemble, test, and debug new electromechanical and optical systems.
- Work with suppliers to source components and materials.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
- 6+ years of industry experience in electromechanical or optics system design and analysis.
- Working fluency in precision machine design fundamentals, including exact-constraint design, kinematic couplings, flexures, error budgeting, structural loops, and tolerance analysis.
- Mechanical 3D CAD experience.
- Experience designing and simulating optical systems; Zemax preferred.
- A portfolio demonstrating hands-on projects and systems built is generally required.
