Manages space planning, interior design, design review, and facility renovation coordination for NCI office and biomedical research spaces. Responsibilities
- Support space planning, architectural interior design, and design review for renovations in NCI office buildings and biomedical research facilities.
- Conduct space surveys and advise on survey areas, required information, architectural standards, building codes, and CAFM guidelines.
- Plan and develop interior spaces based on function, user needs, codes, durability, life-cycle costs, energy use, aesthetics, and budget.
- Advise on layouts, furnishings, equipment, materials, colors, and ergonomic equipment placement.
- Review schematic designs, design development documents, construction drawings, surveys, and shop drawings for compliance with specifications and standards.
- Produce planning and construction documents using CAD software.
- Coordinate relocations with move-management staff and coordinate furniture procurement and installation with vendors.
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and other trades.
- Maintain furniture inventory for reuse and retrofit projects.
- Review CAFM space inventory data to ensure space is assigned and used appropriately.
- Develop working knowledge of the VisionFM CAFM system.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Interior Design or a related discipline.
- At least six years of related experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
