Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design of major product enhancements, from problem framing through shipped experiences.
  • Solve complex payroll problems through research and design thinking, shaping interaction models and product architecture.
  • Conduct user research with payroll operators and platform partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product patterns and make infrastructure products more intuitive and efficient.
  • Partner with engineering and product leaders to simplify payroll-operation workflows.
  • Elevate visual and interaction design across existing product surfaces.
  • Prototype and iterate quickly using feedback from users and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to product design standards and raise the company-wide design bar.
  • Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to communicate platform enhancements.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 6–10+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI research, UX/UI design, or a similar role designing complex software or infrastructure products.
  • Strong UX instincts and the ability to simplify complex systems, workflows, and data-heavy interfaces.
  • Experience designing workflow-driven products or operational software, such as fintech, developer tools, or enterprise platforms.
  • Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, strong visual design, and judgment around AI applications.
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams and designing within technical constraints.
  • Ability to independently drive ambiguous design problems from discovery through shipped product.
  • Experience conducting or leading user research and translating insights into product improvements.
  • Experience designing multi-step workflows and complex user journeys.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving environments with broad ownership.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions and tradeoffs.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $153,000–$198,000.
  • Distributed team across the United States with remote, hybrid, and office-based work options.
  • Offices in New York City and San Francisco.
