Product Design Lead, HRIS
Leads end-to-end product design for Rippling’s HRIS platform, shaping complex workforce workflows and AI-first experiences. The role requires 8+ years of product design experience, strong interaction and visual craft, customer focus, and close collaboration with Product and Engineering.

Responsibilities
- Define long-term and AI-first strategies within the HRIS portfolio.
- Design new 0-to-1 experiences, improve existing experiences, and deliver tactical design work.
- Create workflows for employees and HR leaders that balance ease of use with control, compliance, and visibility at scale.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Product Research, and cross-functional teams to make high-velocity decisions and ship customer-focused experiences.
- Support research projects and incorporate research insights into design work.
- Champion a consumer-grade quality bar and mentor designers in systems thinking, interaction design, and visual polish.
- Collaborate with designers to develop and expand the design system.
Requirements
- 8+ years of end-to-end product design experience shipping complex, high-impact products from concept through launch and iteration.
- Portfolio demonstrating the ability to turn ambiguous problems into simple, intuitive workflows, particularly in complex domains.
- Active use of LLMs such as Claude or ChatGPT in the design workflow.
- Comfort with AI-assisted prototyping tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
- Strong interaction and visual design skills, including polished work across edge cases and states and clear, build-ready specifications.
- Strong customer focus and ability to identify pain points and design meaningful solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and storytelling skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with Product and Engineering while maintaining a high quality bar.
- Ability to operate in fast-moving environments, manage multiple workstreams, unblock dependencies, and own timelines with minimal oversight.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $153,000-$255,000 USD.
