Software Engineer Intern
Software engineering interns design, implement, test, and ship capabilities for autonomous systems across applications, embedded software, machine learning, and platform infrastructure. Candidates must be pursuing a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree and have programming and debugging experience.

Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, write and debug production-quality code, and ship a real feature or capability during a 10–12 week internship.
- Work alongside full-time engineers using Agile development practices.
- Build web, mobile, or desktop features and internal tools for mission-planning or fleet-management workflows.
- Develop and debug embedded C/C++ code for flight controllers or sensor modules, including bring-up and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Train, evaluate, and integrate perception or decision-making models into autonomy pipelines.
- Extend platform tools, APIs, or data pipelines supporting autonomy software, simulation, or cloud infrastructure.
- Write, test, and debug code; apply data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and communicate effectively.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as C, C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience writing, testing, and debugging code through coursework, personal projects, or prior internships.
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Exposure to mobile or web application frameworks and full-stack development.
- Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, real-time operating systems, or assembly-level debugging.
- Coursework or projects involving machine learning, statistics, probability theory, or deep learning frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms, databases, networking, or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Prior internship, research, or club or competition experience in robotics, autonomy, or aerospace applications.
- Interest in or exposure to defense, aerospace, or autonomous systems.
