Responsibilities
- Grow and shape a high-performing engineering group by hiring, onboarding, and developing individual contributors.
- Design team charters, rituals, and scopes of responsibility to increase ownership and product velocity.
- Ship major customer-facing initiatives while improving quality and performance.
- Mentor engineering managers or technical leads and create career-growth pathways.
- Establish standards for architecture, code quality, release reliability, and data integrity.
- Partner with Product, Design, and clinical subject-matter experts on planning, discovery, and delivery.
- Translate business goals into actionable plans, unblock teams, and deliver results in ambiguous environments.
Requirements
- Experience hiring at least 7 engineers and building teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineers.
- Experience building and scaling distributed systems.
- Experience shipping backend and full-stack features in SaaS environments.
- Technical depth to evaluate and guide architecture and implementation decisions.
- Strong product orientation and experience collaborating with Product and Design.
- Demonstrated execution, team alignment, process improvement, and delivery skills.
- Experience building inclusive teams with strong feedback, trust, ownership, and engineering maturity.

- Enterprise SaaS or healthtech experience.
- Experience at high-growth Series B–D startups.
- A personal network of Bay Area engineers or managers.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base compensation of approximately $265,000–$325,000 per year, exclusive of equity.
