Responsibilities
- Lead development of analytics products and self-serve tools that provide trusted data across the company.
- Own analytics products end to end, including success metrics, schema design, testing, production deployment, data quality, freshness SLAs, and incident resolution.
- Build and maintain reliable ETL/ELT pipelines and canonical datasets.
- Build the governed data layer, including semantic models, canonical views, metric definitions, and data contracts.
- Maintain versioning and backward compatibility for downstream BI and AI consumers.
- Structure models, definitions, and documentation so data is usable by people and AI agents.
- Build internal tools that help teams ask data questions and trust the answers.
- Translate business questions into structured analytical problems and data solutions.
- Mentor the Analytics team on testing, dbt CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, automation, runbooks, onboarding, and code review.
- Partner with Engineering on source schemas, events, system architecture, and reliable warehouse data.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data or analytics engineering.
- Experience building and operating production pipelines end to end.
- Strong SQL and solid Python skills.
- Hands-on experience with ETL and orchestration tools, including multi-step workflows.
- Experience with modern data warehouses and query and performance optimization.
- Strong data modeling skills and understanding of the business meaning behind metrics.
- Experience building governed data layers, including semantic models, canonical views, metric definitions, or data contracts.
- Experience writing data quality checks to validate data integrity.
- Experience with BI tools and delivering reports and dashboards.
- Experience setting standards for dbt CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and code review, as well as mentoring others on these practices.
- Experience evaluating and adopting data and analytical tools to solve problems or improve the stack.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $148,000–$203,000.
