Senior Solutions Engineer
Partners with Account Executives to lead technical pre-sales engagements, including discovery, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and solution design for Twilio Communications Products. Requires substantial pre-sales or technical customer-facing experience, strong presentation skills, and technical fluency.

Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives on pre-sales activities, including opportunity qualification, product demonstrations, proofs of concept, RFPs, design documentation, technical presentations, and enablement sessions.
- Lead technical and product sales by recommending best-practice solutions and guiding customers in using Twilio APIs.
- Discover customer technical needs, design solutions, and present innovative approaches to business challenges.
- Build and deliver interactive, complex customer demonstrations of Twilio Communications Products for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor and build strong customer relationships.
- Identify and solve customer and organizational problems.
- Contribute to the Solutions Engineering community through knowledge sharing, demonstration materials, and reusable presentations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of pre-sales experience selling complex technical products, or 6+ years of professional experience supporting technical products with customer-facing delivery or consulting experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics and build audience confidence.
- Ability to understand customers’ communications needs and guide them toward technical solutions.
- Previous software development experience or working knowledge of relevant technical concepts.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, mathematics, or computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and cloud application architecture.
- Experience in telecommunications, SIP, contact centers, or security.
- Experience with sales methodologies.
Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated annual pay ranges vary by location:
- Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington, D.C.: $109,760–$137,200.
- New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California outside the San Francisco Bay Area: $115,840–$144,800.
- San Francisco Bay Area, California: $121,920–$152,400.
- May be eligible for equity and a corporate bonus plan.
- Eligible for commissions.
- Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid sick time, paid personal time off, and paid parental leave.
- Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.
