Contracts Manager

Owns customer and vendor contracting while supporting the operational administration of Zello’s compliance and policy programs. The role requires 3+ years of in-house commercial contracts experience, strong independent redlining skills, and exceptional organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own the customer contract lifecycle from first draft through signature, including reviewing, redlining, and negotiating NDAs, MSAs, DPAs, AI data-processing addendums, BAAs, amendments, and security exhibits.
  • Determine when issues require outside counsel and independently handle routine contracting matters.
  • Build and maintain contracting infrastructure, including playbooks, fallback positions, template libraries, and escalation guidelines.
  • Own the vendor lifecycle, including intake, due diligence, tiering, approval, renewals, and termination.
  • Manage data subject requests and subpoena or legal-request intake end-to-end.
  • Track contractual notification commitments related to products and AI data changes to support compliance requirements.
  • Administer the compliance stack, including Drata and KnowBe4.
  • Manage the policy lifecycle, including drafting, review cadence, attestations, and periodic access reviews.
  • Use AI for first-pass contract review, questionnaire drafting, clause comparison, and obligation tracking.
  • Identify and improve manual or error-prone processes.
  • Communicate clearly with Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, and outside counsel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of in-house commercial contracts experience.
  • Independent experience redlining and closing NDAs, DPAs, and MSAs.
  • Strong organizational, detail-management, and contract-tracking skills.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Interest in legal operations and governance, risk, and compliance processes.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to use AI for contract and legal operations workflows.
  • No JD or bar admission required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with vendor management, compliance program administration, policy management, or access reviews.
  • Experience with GDPR data subject requests and contractual notification obligations.
  • Experience using Drata or KnowBe4.
  • Prior experience working closely with attorneys or preparing for the LSAT.
