Responsibilities
- Embed with operators across sales, service, underwriting, and carrier relations to learn the operation end-to-end
- Identify the 20% of friction causing 80% of operational drag and ship automations to remove it
- Run daily operations: underwriter follow-ups, carrier communications, customer calls, and keeping deals moving through the pipeline
- Build and ship AI agents, internal tools, and workflow automations — prototype in days, ship in weeks
- Write SQL, pull data, and build dashboards to prove shipped work moved business metrics
- Translate operational pain into product requirements that engineering builds next
- Context-switch across functions based on what is most urgent that week
Requirements
- 2–4 years in a high-pace environment (startup, operations, consulting, or engineering)
- Track record of building and shipping internal tools, automations, or workflows that ran in production
- Comfortable in SQL and at least one of Python or TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate immediately
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with LLMs, AI agents, or voice AI
- Background in insurance, fintech, or another regulated, high-stakes industry
- Prior startup or founder experience
- Solutions engineering, operations, or customer success experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $125,000–$170,000 depending on experience + performance bonuses & equity
- On-site in San Francisco, Monday–Friday with very early morning start, five days a week in-office
