Sales Onboarding Advocate
Supports small business owners through payroll and HR onboarding while diagnosing tax and compliance issues, managing customer interactions, and identifying expansion opportunities. The role requires at least one year of high-volume sales or customer service experience plus consultative communication and practical AI use.

Responsibilities
- Handle high-volume phone and email interactions with small business owners from onboarding through their first payroll.
- Manage a ticket queue similarly to a sales opportunity pipeline.
- Proactively position plan upgrades and identify cross-sell opportunities for health insurance, workers’ compensation, and 401(k) products.
- Diagnose tax discrepancies and troubleshoot unfamiliar state portals in real time.
- Configure sick time, paid time off, and overtime policies to support compliance.
- Determine when issues require specialist escalation and coordinate handoffs across teams, including Risk.
- Use assigned AI tools daily, identify workflow friction, and provide feedback to improve tools and processes.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume sales or customer service role involving cross-selling, upselling, quotas, or KPIs.
- New graduates are encouraged to apply and should be prepared to explain how internships or prior experience transfer to the role.
- Strong communication skills across phone, email, and chat, with the ability to adjust tone appropriately.
- Customer-focused, consultative approach to understanding needs and recommending products.
- Goal-oriented, competitive, adaptable, and effective at problem-solving.
- Willingness to learn payroll, tax codes, compliance rules, and related processes.
- Proven day-to-day experience integrating AI into writing, research, preparation, and summarization, including providing useful feedback on AI tools and processes.
Compensation
- $23.00-$24.50 per hour in Denver, Phoenix, and Atlanta.
- Full-time employees receive benefits and equity, including RSUs.
