About the role
Responsibilities
Own and serve as the subject matter expert for fluid and HVAC components across data center builds, including chillers, pumps, dry coolers, chemical treatment, water storage, building pressurization, comfort heating and cooling, heat exchangers, valves, and related systems.
Perform CAD modeling and design of fluid and HVAC systems, coordinating designs with other disciplines in three dimensions.
Perform fluid analyses for pressure balance, component design allowables, and consumables determination.
Coordinate with procurement, construction, and other disciplines to select, apply, and procure equipment that meets build timelines, cost requirements, and performance targets.
Design for manufacturability and reliability when working with internal manufacturing partners, and support smooth transitions to reliable production processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
At least 1 year of professional experience working with fluid components such as valves, pumps, COPVs, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors.
Senior-level candidates should have a Professional Engineer (PE) license, at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, and a proven track record of effective management and leadership.
Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering licensure.
Consulting experience in the data center market; AI-specific experience is preferred.
Hands-on experience with liquid and/or gas fluid-handling systems.
Experience with data acquisition equipment, test instrumentation, and control components, including pressure transducers, thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors, and relays.
Experience with HVAC systems and air ducting.
Experience using Revit, with a solid understanding and application of parametric design tools and software.
Leads the design, development, and qualification of complex precision mechanical systems for a modular micromanufacturing platform. Requires 10+ years of multiphysics mechanical engineering experience, multiple product launches, cross-functional technical leadership, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
