Responsibilities
- Co-lead a cross-functional team with product management partners, aligning strategy, priorities, and success metrics for features that drive user impact.
- Drive projects from specification through implementation, experimentation and analysis, and ongoing ownership.
- Ensure infrastructure reliability, scalability, and observability.
- Use data and rapid experimentation to inform decisions; design A/B tests with analytics or data science partners and translate insights into product improvements.
- Attract, grow, and retain diverse engineering talent through clear expectations, coaching, and career development.
- Build a healthy, inclusive, high-performance team culture.
- Set engineering quality standards and processes that balance speed with maintainability.
- Manage technical debt, product quality, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with product, design, research, and engineering teams to deliver impactful user experiences.
- Define team OKRs, prioritize work, and remove roadblocks.
Requirements
- Experience leading, managing, and building teams of software engineers, including hiring, developing, and retaining talent.
- Track record of shipping multi-engineer, multi-week projects with measurable business impact while balancing speed and quality.
- Strong product instincts and comfort in experimental, data-driven environments.
- Experience defining metrics and running A/B tests with analytics or data science partners.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, design, and data.
- Ability to write clear specifications and status updates.
- Technical depth to guide architecture and implementation trade-offs, evolve quality standards, and mentor engineers on best practices.
- Ability to work from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $204,000–$306,000 USD.
- Base salary is supplemented by equity compensation.
