Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team of object storage engineers through mentorship, feedback, hiring, and technical guidance.
- Drive product initiatives from ideation through launch while balancing speed, reliability, and quality.
- Partner with Product, Design, Infrastructure, customers, and internal stakeholders to translate user needs into technical solutions and roadmaps.
- Guide system design, architecture decisions, and engineering tradeoffs.
- Foster ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and effective engineering practices.
- Break complex problems into incremental milestones that deliver value while supporting long-term platform evolution.
- Maintain a strong focus on developer experience and customer impact.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as an engineer shipping products or features with downstream business and ecosystem impact.
- 2+ years of experience managing people and developing engineers, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Strong background in system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs.
- Experience building stateful services, ideally.
- Product-oriented approach to translating business goals and user needs into engineering roadmaps and shipped features.
- Ability to balance urgency with thoughtful, high-quality execution.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong ownership and accountability for team outcomes and long-term system health.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or developer tools.
- Experience with highly scalable distributed systems or infrastructure platforms.
- Experience improving engineering velocity through tooling, processes, and team practices.

Compensation and Benefits
- $204,000–$289,000 annual salary.
