Responsibilities
- Lead the AI Tooling and Ecosystem Team and develop tools and services that enable product teams to build AI-powered features and workflows.
- Design and manage systems for AI datasets, prompts, evaluations, and workflows, including human and LLM-as-a-judge feedback.
- Build processes for defining AI success criteria, selecting appropriate models, and creating feedback loops for prompt optimization.
- Streamline AI development workflows for teams with varying levels of AI expertise.
- Collaborate with the AI Core Infrastructure Team to ensure reliable, measurable, and cost-efficient AI workflows.
- Partner with AI, Product, Data Science, and Platform leaders on shared AI tooling and use cases.
- Own multi-quarter roadmaps and cross-functional alignment to increase AI feature velocity and product impact.
- Hire, develop, and retain software and AI engineering talent.
Requirements
- Experience leading, managing, and building teams of software and/or AI engineers.
- Track record of building AI infrastructure or user-facing AI-powered products.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation methods, particularly human and LLM-as-a-judge evaluations.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to align AI, product, data science, and platform partners on strategy and execution.
- Comfort leading through ambiguity in a fast-evolving AI environment.
- Ability to work from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY.
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on experience building evaluation systems and human-in-the-loop data pipelines at scale.
- Experience developing internal platform or infrastructure tools exposed through APIs, MCPs, and web GUIs.
- Experience making build-versus-buy decisions and shaping long-term roadmaps for internal customers.
Compensation
- Base salary range: $204,000–$306,000 USD.
- Equity compensation supplements the base salary.
