Leads Datadog’s Strategic Enterprise and Public Sector sales business in Japan, owning revenue growth, major-account strategy, pipeline, forecasting, and multi-product expansion. Responsibilities
- Recruit, build, and develop the enterprise sales organization in Japan.
- Own revenue for Strategic Enterprise and Public Sector, leading quarterly and annual target attainment.
- Develop and execute enterprise growth strategies, including new customer acquisition, platform expansion, and multi-product adoption.
- Improve sales operations, including pipeline generation, forecast management, deal reviews, and account strategy.
- Support leaders and sales teams on large, complex opportunities involving multi-layered decision-making processes.
- Drive effective engagement throughout the sales cycle, including discovery, executive alignment, technical validation, and closing.
- Optimize sales models and strategies to improve win rates, deal velocity, and productivity.
- Coach teams on value selling, executive engagement, and high-impact sales activities.
- Build a team culture centered on collaboration, accountability, and customer focus.
- Build relationships as executive sponsor for Datadog's most important customers.
- Develop next-generation leaders and drive succession planning and career development.
- Build long-term relationships with partners and alliances across the Datadog ecosystem.
Requirements
- 10+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience at a technology company, particularly SaaS.
- 7+ years of senior leadership experience leading distributed sales teams within complex go-to-market organizations.
- Experience managing complex sales processes, including large deals.
- Demonstrated success improving sales metrics such as win rate, deal size, pipeline quality, and forecast accuracy.
- Strong understanding of value-based selling frameworks, including MEDDICC.
- Executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and C-level customers.
- Hands-on, high-EQ leadership with the ability to coach teams while engaging deeply in deals.
- Leadership ability to drive growth amid uncertainty and market change.
- Experience speaking at conferences and events.
- Ability to bridge global go-to-market strategy and Japanese sales practices.
- Ability to translate global strategy into practical execution plans for the Japanese market.
