Senior Frontend Engineer , Create: Repository Management

Responsibilities
- Develop secure, well-tested, performant features and improvements using Vue.js and GraphQL.
- Turn complex requirements and legacy constraints into clear solutions while maintaining reliability.
- Partner with product management, product design, and user experience teams to build intuitive, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
- Collaborate across functions and teams, involving domain experts when helpful.
- Use artificial intelligence agents for well-scoped work and critically review their output.
- Write maintainable code according to GitLab standards and advocate for those standards through code review.
- Monitor production health metrics, participate in Tier 2 on-call, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and improve observability and resiliency.
- Share knowledge through code review, technical documentation, and collaboration.
- Coach and mentor others and provide technical leadership in frontend development.
Requirements
- Professional experience with Vue.js or another modern JavaScript web framework, such as React, Angular, or Ember.
- Experience using GraphQL for API integration and data management.
- Solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, core JavaScript, responsive design, accessibility standards, and frontend performance best practices.
- Experience simplifying complex policy, permissions, or rules-based problems in web applications.
- Experience writing frontend unit and acceptance tests and familiarity with the testing pyramid.
- Experience using artificial intelligence coding agents in a large, complex monorepo, including scoping tasks, reviewing generated code, and recognizing their limitations.
- Professional Git experience and familiarity with collaborative code review.
- Clear written and spoken English communication skills, including communication in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Ability to manage priorities independently, work through ambiguity, take ownership, and seek guidance on difficult-to-reverse decisions.
