Software Engineer - Front End - Studio

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex, user-facing features and shared foundations for Clear Street Studio.
• Drive a system-design approach to front-end services, balancing scale, performance, and maintainability.
• Set and evolve engineering standards for architecture, testing, tooling, and code quality.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Partner with product, design, and back-end leads to shape roadmaps and translate ambiguous problems into technical plans.
• Own operational excellence, including reliability, observability, and high service-level availability.
• Explain system design and front-end paradigms to engineers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of professional experience implementing scalable web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Experience building systems that solve complex business problems and handle large volumes of data.
• Strong command of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience prioritizing end-user experience through API design, functionality, and performance.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, define engineering standards, and apply system-design principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• High standards for software quality.

Nice to Have

• Experience leading front-end architecture for large-scale or data-intensive applications.
• Deep experience with monorepo tooling such as Nx or Turborepo and micro-frontend architectures such as Module Federation.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience in financial services, capital markets, or trading platforms.
