Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible for the core architecture enabling billing configuration complexity and extensibility.
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for billing configuration.
- Drive operational excellence across billing infrastructure systems.
- Hire and develop engineers as the team expands.
- Partner with stakeholders across organizations to deliver billing solutions.
- Define priorities and scope based on internal and external customer needs.
- Define and uphold engineering standards for business-critical billing infrastructure.
Requirements
- 4+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of 5+ engineers building and shipping products at scale.
- 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
- Track record of leading teams responsible for high-traffic, low-latency, extensible systems.
- Strong user empathy and experience working backward from internal and external customer needs.
- Ability to drive rigorous decision-making and build strong cross-functional partnerships.
- Ability to handle ambiguity, solve complex challenges creatively, and execute on competing high-impact priorities.
- Demonstrated focus on system reliability, operational health, and incident response.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building and leading distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones.
- Track record of delivering shared infrastructure across multiple business units.
- Background in billing, metering, or large-scale distributed systems.
