Responsibilities
- Lead complex product initiatives across underwriting, owning outcomes from problem definition through launch and adoption.
- Partner with clients and underwriters to shape platform capabilities, pressure-test features, and develop a durable product roadmap.
- Use AI tools and agentic workflows for discovery, synthesis, roadmap communication, and stakeholder preparation.
- Translate carrier requirements and regulatory constraints into product requirements for engineering and underwriting users.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with company strategy.
- Model AI-native working habits and contribute to the shared knowledge base of tools, skills, and workflows.
- Identify opportunities through underwriting workflow observation, data analysis, client feedback, and competitive intelligence.
- Communicate product vision, strategy, and outcomes to influence stakeholders across the organization.
- Coach and mentor junior product managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of product management experience.
- Hands-on life insurance experience, ideally in or adjacent to underwriting.
- Familiarity with evidence and requirements, APS and lab data, carrier guidelines, and underwriting decisions.
- Experience building products for expert users making consequential decisions where accuracy and auditability are critical.
- Ability to lead multiple projects across an entire product area.
- Track record of delivering successful products with measurable business impact.
- Daily experience using AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Lovable, Replit, or equivalent for synthesis, research, and structured thinking.
- Experience with user research, usability testing, and UI/UX design principles for complex systems.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with product analytics and BI solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate with ambiguity and make decisions with incomplete information.
