Leads the structuring and negotiation of strategic data and product partnerships that bring AI to high-impact public-benefit areas. The role requires 8+ years of deal-making experience, complex rights and privacy negotiations, and strong cross-functional collaboration with legal, research, product, and partner teams.

Responsibilities
- Structure and close data and product partnerships from ideation through signature.
- Scope partnership objectives, define agreement scope, design mutually workable structures, negotiate terms, and ensure commitments are honored.
- Partner with partner managers and commercial counsel on deal structure and risk.
- Develop standard structures from recurring deal patterns to improve speed and consistency.
- Maintain a clear, current partnership pipeline and communicate status across Beneficial Deployments, legal, research, and product.
Requirements
- Commitment to the public-benefit nature of the work.
- 8+ years of experience, primarily negotiating and closing agreements in business development, strategic partnerships, licensing, data or content deals, corporate development, or a comparable field.
- Experience personally leading deals from term sheet through signature, including non-standard agreements.
- Experience negotiating complex terms involving rights, use restrictions, privacy, and security obligations.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with legal teams and relationship or program owners.
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple agreements simultaneously.
- Sound judgment and comfort operating with incomplete information, declining deals, or proposing alternative structures.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with nonprofits, foundations, multilateral organizations, universities, health systems, or governments.
- Familiarity with health, education, or research data and governing frameworks.
- Understanding of AI model development and evaluation, product integrations, and APIs.
- Experience at an AI lab, platform company, or data business.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $240,000–$300,000 USD.
