Partnership Manager, AI for Science

Build and scale Anthropic’s AI for Science program by developing partnerships with life sciences labs, startups, and foundations. The role requires deep scientific relationships, partnership-management experience, AI and LLM fluency, and an entrepreneurial approach to launching new programs.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute Anthropic’s AI for Science API credit strategy across academic labs, startups, and potentially foundations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard partners through application calls and targeted relationship building.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner, coordinating with Applied AI, product, and go-to-market teams.
  • Compile ecosystem reports and insights to inform research and go-to-market priorities.
  • Manage program timelines, resources, and reporting.
  • Translate partners’ technical and operational needs into deployment plans.
  • Conduct early technical prototyping and testing to unblock partners.
  • Set a research agenda for understanding AI’s impact on individual labs.
  • Identify opportunities for open-source tools, datasets, and research that benefit the ecosystem.
  • Represent Anthropic at scientific conferences and convenings.
  • Help develop team processes and culture as the life sciences program scales.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in life sciences research, with exposure to technology’s role in accelerating scientific progress.
  • 3+ years managing external partnerships, grantmaking, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Deep relationships and credibility across life sciences, including universities, research institutes, and tools companies.
  • Technical fluency in AI concepts and LLM capabilities and limitations.
  • Analytical experience using data to inform strategy and measure impact.
  • Experience building communities of practice across scientific domains.
  • Entrepreneurial experience building programs or organizations from scratch.
  • Strong prioritization, communication, and partnership-management skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, high agency, and managing many opportunities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for partner visits and conferences.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with philanthropic foundations on science funding.
  • Experience in biotech companies, academic research institutions, funding organizations, or scientific technology-product roles.
  • Wet-lab research experience and strong scientific communication skills.

Compensation

  • Annual compensation range: $215,000–$300,000 USD.
