What you'll build
- A medication management workflow that helps older adults understand what they are taking, why they are taking it, and what conflicts to watch for.
- A voice-friendly or chat-based interface that works for lower-digital-literacy users.
- Caregiver and clinician views that turn day-to-day logs into useful summaries and follow-up context.
- A system for adherence, symptom, and condition tracking that improves continuity of care.
What you'll do
- Own the build across conversational experience, medication logic, patient and caregiver workflow, and deployment.
- Design for trust, clarity, and low-friction use by older adults rather than assuming power-user behavior.
- Decide where GenAI adds value in explanation, summarization, and coordination, and where deterministic safety checks should dominate.
- Work with patients, caregivers, and clinicians to learn where the product reduces confusion versus creating new risk.
- Work with AI Fund's build team on wedge selection, local market fit, and what could become a durable chronic care platform.
What you need
- Strong product engineering ability and meaningful experience in health tech, consumer health apps, messaging products, or conversational systems.
- A strong sense for UX under trust and accessibility constraints, especially for elderly or low-digital-literacy users.
- Experience with GenAI systems, safe summarization, voice or chat interfaces, or messaging platform integrations such as LINE or WhatsApp.
- The ability to build both patient-facing simplicity and caregiver or clinician-facing structure.
- You know how to use AI coding assistants and modern AI tools to move quickly without losing safety judgment.
- You can work on-site in Mountain View, CA for the duration of the residency.
- Mandarin fluency is required, since the product is being built for the Taiwan market.
Helpful but not required
- Experience in medication management, care coordination, elder care, or chronic disease support products.
- Experience with speech interfaces, multilingual UX, or family-sharing workflows.
- Founder or founding engineer experience in consumer health or workflow-heavy products.
What to know upfront
- This is a 12-week, full-time, on-site build residency in Mountain View, California.
- This role is being built for the Taiwan market, so product decisions need to fit local workflows, patient expectations, and operator realities.
- Not every residency becomes a company. The point is to validate the wedge quickly and honestly with real users and domain experts.
- You will be building an AI Fund idea, not bringing your own startup idea into the program.
- The process typically includes a working conversation, then a 48-hour Builder Challenge, then panel review with AI Fund build leadership.
Compensation
$10,000/month for 12 weeks ($30,000 total). This is a contract role during the residency. If the build leads to a funded company, the next step is a founder-level role with meaningful equity upside.
