Senior Technical Program Manager – Autonomy
Owns requirements, sprint ceremonies, Jira governance, release coordination, and cross-team dependencies for an autonomy engineering team. The role requires 8+ years of technical program management experience and substantial hands-on familiarity with autonomous systems.

Responsibilities
- Lead requirement intake and refinement for autonomy capabilities including perception, path planning, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), and multi-agent or swarm behaviors.
- Translate product and mission intent into clear, testable engineering requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain traceability from initiatives through epics, stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Enforce scope discipline and manage changes through an explicit intake and change-control process.
- Maintain Jira initiative, epic, and story status; manage blocked-initiative tracking and coordinate state transitions.
- Enforce Jira hygiene, including fields, labels, components, workflows, and definitions of ready and done.
- Run Autonomy team sprint planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Manage cross-team dependencies across Autonomy, Core, Systems, Solutions, and Release Engineering.
- Produce concise, audience-relevant technical briefs.
Requirements
- 8+ years of technical program or project management experience for software or autonomy engineering teams.
- Demonstrated mastery of requirements management, including intake, refinement, traceability, and change control.
- Hands-on experience with autonomy systems such as unmanned or robotic vehicle platforms, perception, path planning, GNC, or multi-agent/swarm coordination.
- High Jira fluency, including dashboards, workflows, and custom reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience establishing and driving adoption of process frameworks or operating models.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Ability to work in a hybrid on-site environment with travel.
Nice-to-haves
- Background in autonomy, robotics, aerospace, or defense programs.
- Familiarity with simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), or autonomous-system field testing.
- Agile or project management certifications such as SAFe, Scrum Alliance, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience in product management, change management, or process improvement.
- Experience in highly technical AI and autonomy environments.
