Senior Software Engineer
Builds scalable, two-way ERP and financial-system integrations that automate accounting workflows across Rippling products. The role requires 6+ years of software engineering experience, strong backend or full-stack skills, database expertise, and production troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities
- Grow Payroll products by expanding accounting coverage across spend use cases.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, two-way integrations between Rippling and ERP systems, supporting journal syncing, bank reconciliations, audit data, and real-time transaction flows.
- Ship medium-to-large features end-to-end, including requirements gathering, architectural design, coding, testing, deployment, and iteration.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, internal platform teams, and external partners to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Define and enforce best practices for code quality, unit and integration testing, observability, and performance.
- Provide production support and incident response by debugging integration failures, triaging customer issues, and implementing reliability improvements.
- Improve integration frameworks and abstractions across ERP platforms.
- Drive roadmap initiatives, propose architectural enhancements, and influence the team’s vision for global accounting capabilities.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and help unblock teammates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping backend or full-stack systems end-to-end.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and reliability at scale.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages, including Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.
- Experience with RESTful or gRPC APIs.
- Experience building integrations or middleware, ideally for ERP or financial systems.
- Database experience with relational and NoSQL stores, including schema design and efficient queries.
- Production troubleshooting experience, including logs, metrics, incident analysis, and root-cause fixes.
- Strong product mindset and communication skills.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar frameworks and codebases and take on cross-functional technical work.
Nice to Have
- Experience with NetSuite SuiteTalk, QuickBooks API, Dynamics OData, or Oracle integrations.
- Experience with accounting workflows such as journal entries, reconciliations, and book closure.
