Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of product engineers through mentorship, feedback, hiring, and clear technical guidance.
- Drive key product initiatives from ideation through launch, balancing speed, reliability, and quality.
- Partner with Product and Design to translate customer needs into technical solutions and product roadmaps.
- Guide system design decisions and help the team navigate architectural tradeoffs.
- Foster ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement in engineering practices and team processes.
- Break down complex problems into incremental milestones that deliver value quickly while supporting long-term platform evolution.
- Ensure the team understands developer experience and customer impact.
- Collaborate with product management, customers, and internal teams to align priorities and deliver impactful features.
Requirements
- 8+ years as an engineer shipping products or features with downstream business and product impact.
- 2+ years managing people and developing engineers, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management.
- Strong technical background in system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs.
- Product-oriented mindset with experience translating business goals and user needs into engineering roadmaps and shipped features.
- Ability to balance urgency with thoughtful execution and maintain high quality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design.
- Strong ownership and accountability for team outcomes and long-term system health.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building products for developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or DevTools.
- Experience with highly scalable distributed systems or infrastructure platforms.
- Experience improving engineering velocity through tooling, processes, and team practices.
- Experience building products used directly by developers or technical users.
- Successful collaboration with product, marketing, and customer support teams to drive adoption and retention.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $204,000–$280,000 annually.
