About the role

Responsibilities

Media Relations

  • Cultivate relationships with journalists, editors, and producers covering enterprise technology, analytics, AI, data, and SaaS.
  • Drive earned media coverage in top-tier business and trade outlets.
  • Develop story angles, press materials, pitches, and messaging frameworks.
  • Serve as a primary media contact and prepare spokespeople for interviews and public presentations.
  • Establish and track metrics monitoring the health of media coverage.

Product Launches and Company News

  • Partner with Product Marketing to develop and execute PR strategies for major product announcements.
  • Manage PR and communications activities for company news and announcements.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent, differentiated, and resonant with technical and business audiences.

Agency and Partner Management

  • Manage agency relationships in the US, EMEA, and APAC, setting priorities, KPIs, and workflows.
  • Serve as the internal contact and day-to-day liaison, ensuring agency output aligns with the company’s voice and goals.

Internal Communications

  • Partner with the People team and leadership to craft internal announcements and messaging.
  • Support internal communication programs that keep employees informed and connected to the company narrative.

Crisis and Issues Management

  • Monitor the media and competitive landscape for potential reputational issues.
  • Support crisis communications protocols and provide strategic guidance in sensitive situations.

Executive Communications

  • Identify, pursue, and manage award submissions, podcast appearances, and speaking opportunities at industry conferences and events.
  • Develop and maintain LinkedIn content strategies for executives.
  • Collaborate with executives on bylines and contributed articles from ideation through final draft.
  • Develop and execute thought leadership narratives and plans for executives and the company.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of communications experience, preferably including both in-house experience at a B2B technology company and PR agency experience.
  • Experience in analytics, data, AI, engineering, or product development.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across press releases, media pitches, executive messaging, bylines, internal announcements, and social content.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and confidence presenting to and advising senior stakeholders.
  • Strong storytelling skills and news judgment.
  • Track record of securing meaningful coverage in top-tier and technology outlets.
  • Experience managing external agencies and partners and working cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Experience working with PR agencies or teams outside the United States.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Journalism training or prior experience as a reporter or editor.
  • Familiarity with analyst relations, including Gartner, Forrester, or IDC, in a B2B SaaS context.
  • Experience supporting a company through a major growth phase, rebrand, or category-creation moment.
  • Experience working as a PR team of one.
  • Existing relationships with reporters covering enterprise software, product management, data infrastructure, analytics, or AI.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Total target cash compensation range: $174,500–$236,000 USD, including base and variable compensation.
