Data Scientist - Perception Verification and Validation
Develop datasets, performance metrics, and statistical methods to verify and validate an autonomous driving perception stack. The role requires advanced education in a quantitative field and proficiency in Python, SQL or Spark/Scala, exploratory analysis, visualization, and statistical modeling.

Responsibilities
- Define key performance metrics to measure the impact of perception features on the perception stack and end-to-end system behavior.
- Create and maintain datasets for evaluating perception and end-to-end driving performance.
- Analyze large-scale metric results to identify patterns and perception failure modes.
- Present results and insights to leadership.
- Design and implement statistical methods to quantify uncertainty in performance and validation metrics.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency with SQL and/or Spark/Scala for building efficient data queries at scale.
- Proficiency with Python for production-quality code.
- Basic experience with autonomous driving, safety-critical systems, or computer vision systems.
- Experience with exploratory data analysis and data visualization.
- Background in statistical modeling and analysis, including connecting point and uncertainty estimates to business impact.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience using AI tools to improve development efficiency and quality.
- Experience with experiment design and statistical comparisons, including A/B testing and parametric or non-parametric statistics.
- Experience analyzing geospatial data.
