Responsibilities
- Partner with finance, accounting, billing, and revenue teams to translate pain points into self-serve, reliable, and scalable data solutions.
- Mentor team members and champion engineering excellence across the organization.
- Own initiatives from design through execution with significant autonomy.
- Drive organization-wide initiatives shaping the financial data vision and roadmap.
- Own critical data integration pipelines and models for uniform, reliable, timely, and accurate financial reporting.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data or software engineering, focused on building financial data pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, and BigQuery.
- Strong production experience with Python, Airflow, Spark, Iceberg, and Delta Lake.
- Expertise in scalable and usable data modeling for complex financial data.
- Expert SQL and dbt (Data Build Tool) skills.
- Experience building high-quality, complex ETL/ELT pipelines for accounting and billing.
- Experience with data immutability, auditability, slowly changing dimensions, or similar concepts.
- Ability to communicate fluently with cross-functional stakeholders to drive requirements and design shared datasets.
- Ability to balance urgency with high-quality, pragmatic solutions.
- Experience working with a large codebase on a cross-functional team.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow.
- Experience with SOX-controlled data systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Canadian base pay range: CA$188,000–CA$198,500.
- Eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
- Benefits offerings are available to eligible employees.
- This is a remote role currently hiring in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
