Responsibilities
- Build and maintain ELT pipelines that transform raw data into modular, tested dbt models in Snowflake.
- Design and maintain reliable data orchestration and workflows.
- Write and maintain dbt tests, documentation, dependencies, and deployment processes.
- Build monitoring and alerting for pipeline failures and data anomalies.
- Optimize Snowflake table design and materialization strategies for performance and cost.
- Evolve Snowflake access controls and data governance, including roles and grants.
- Translate internal team and external client needs into durable data solutions.
- Apply software engineering practices including Git-based version control, CI/CD, and code review.
- Build data infrastructure and governance for AI/ML use cases.
Requirements
- 6+ years of data engineering experience.
- Ability to independently own complex data systems from design through production and make architectural tradeoffs.
- Strong product and stakeholder judgment, with the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into data solutions.
- Production-grade SQL and Snowflake expertise.
- Deep experience with dbt, including testing, documentation, dependencies, and deployment.
- Strong Python skills for data pipelines, orchestration, and custom transformations.
- Experience incorporating testing, monitoring, and alerting into data pipelines.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with BI and analytics tools, ideally Sigma.
- Experience with orchestration and workflow tooling.
- Cloud platform experience.
- Experience supporting ML/AI pipelines.
- Experience with streaming and real-time data.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $190,000–$210,000, plus equity.
