Chiller Technician
Maintains and troubleshoots critical MEP infrastructure supporting supercomputing data centers, including cooling, power, and environmental systems. Requires a mechanical or electrical degree or equivalent hands-on facilities experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and flexibility for 24x7 shift coverage.

Responsibilities
- Maintain site safety and environmental compliance for MEP infrastructure, meeting local and regional health and safety requirements.
- Operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a data center.
- Work with pumps, piping, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH units, wiring, lighting systems, generators, motors, water supply, UPS systems, and switchgear.
- Write and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
- Perform daily inspections of critical systems and proactively report facility issues.
- Maintain spare-parts inventory to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate and supervise scheduled system shutdowns.
- Develop and implement energy-monitoring metrics.
- Support commissioning by witnessing equipment startup, assisting with functional testing, and monitoring construction progress.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and mentor junior technicians at the senior level; lead technician teams and oversee infrastructure optimization at the lead level.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or 2+ years of hands-on operations or facilities experience in lieu of a degree.
- Data center experience preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles and systems; experience with both is a plus.
- Experience with critical-systems documentation, including plans, procedures, and operations manuals.
- Experience with building and electrical power monitoring systems and operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with PLC-based control systems and/or building management systems.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and technical writing skills in English.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and utilize hand and power tools.
- Physical dexterity for work in tight quarters and comfort working at heights up to 100 feet with appropriate safety gear.
- Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments and around fumes, odors, and noise.
- Availability for flexible shifts supporting 24x7 coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Valid driver’s license.
