Conversion Operations Associate

The Conversion Operations Associate manages retirement plan data transfers, asset allocations, reconciliations, and participant loan setup to ensure accurate go-live execution. The role requires 3+ years in retirement or financial operations, advanced Excel skills, and strong analytical attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage participant-level asset allocations during retirement plan conversions, including parsing, validation, and allocation of transferred funds.
  • Reconcile trust reports and legacy provider data to validate asset balances, fund mapping, participant elections, and allocation logic before system upload and go-live.
  • Investigate cash-movement and asset-balance discrepancies and drive open items to resolution.
  • Establish participant loan records, including balances, repayment schedules, and payroll alignment.
  • Protect historical data integrity for downstream compliance testing and reporting.
  • Identify source-data gaps and collaborate with client-facing teams to resolve issues before go-live.
  • Partner with Client Success, Onboarding, Compliance, and Reconciliations teams.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives and tooling improvements that increase conversion accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, financial operations, or onboarding-focused operational roles.
  • Strong understanding of pre-tax, Roth, and employer contributions; loan structures; and participant-level retirement data.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including lookup functions, pivot tables, data validation, and error analysis.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, systems thinking, and clear-headed problem solving.
  • Ability to learn new tools and platforms quickly.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting 401(k) plan conversions, asset transitions, loans, or trust reconciliation.

Compensation

  • Cash compensation: $68,570–$84,000 per year in Denver.
  • Full-time employees receive benefits and equity (RSUs).
