Software Engineer II, Segment Optimization

Build and operate distributed data applications powering large-scale audience segmentation and real-time personalization. The role requires 2–4 years of software engineering experience, backend development skills, and familiarity with databases, algorithms, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve systems powering audience segmentation for more than 100 million customers.
  • Own well-scoped features end to end across distributed data applications, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and design teammates to deliver high-quality software.
  • Develop a deep understanding of owned services, platform data flows, and the impact of changes on clients and customers.
  • Contribute to process, infrastructure, and system improvements across the team and engineering organization.
  • Use AI tools to move quickly while focusing on system behavior, architecture, and design tradeoffs.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Experience building backend services and an interest in deepening distributed-systems expertise.
  • Experience with Java, Python, or Go.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, optimization, data structures, and software design.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, including how data modeling and access patterns affect performance and reliability.
  • Commitment to clean, correct code and established engineering best practices.
  • Ability to take ownership of work through reliable operation and customer impact.
  • Clear communication and effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and translating business goals into clear deliverables.

Compensation and Benefits

  • US base salary: $135,000–$170,000 annually.
