Analytics Engineer II - Regulatory Reporting

Build and operate the data platform supporting automated regulatory reporting for a prediction markets business. The role combines SQL and dbt development, end-to-end data investigation, automated validation, and cross-functional ownership under strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Run daily validation of regulatory reporting submissions, verify accuracy, flag breaks, and own triage.
  • Investigate data issues end to end using raw data, document findings, and provide actionable follow-up.
  • Build and maintain purpose-built, tested dbt models for regulatory reporting.
  • Implement automated test cases and validations to identify recurring issues early.
  • Support pre-launch submission validation, audit requests, and legal and state data pulls.
  • Monitor upstream product and engineering changes, assess reporting impact, and raise issues proactively.
  • Participate in the broader team's on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and raw-data investigation.
  • Engineering mindset focused on pipelines, automation, and reliability.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt.
  • Ability to work reliably under deadlines and communicate issues early.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, compliance, and leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a federally regulated environment, prediction markets platform, fintech, crypto exchange, or neobank.
  • Sports industry experience, especially fantasy sports or sports betting.
  • Reconciliation, trade-level reporting, or data validation experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
  • Experience with data contracts, schema registries, or similar methods for managing upstream dependencies.
  • Exposure to prediction markets, derivatives, or exchange operations.
  • On-call or SLA-driven data work experience.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Target starting base salary: $135,000–$150,000 USD, plus target equity.
