About the role
Responsibilities
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with US GAAP.
Account for internal-use software development costs under ASC 350-40, including capitalized development costs, amortization schedules, and impairment assessments.
Account for commissions and other contract acquisition costs under ASC 340-40, including capitalization, amortization, and rollforwards.
Use NetSuite to prepare workpapers, schedules, and account activity supporting financial reporting and audit readiness.
Assist with financial statements and supporting schedules under US GAAP.
Perform variance and trend analysis, investigate account changes, escalate issues, and propose resolutions.
Support internal controls, control documentation, and SOX compliance objectives.
Prepare audit schedules and respond to external auditor requests.
Identify process improvement and automation opportunities, including use of AI-powered tools.
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, HR, and People Operations on accounting matters and special projects.
Use FloQast to manage close checklists, reconciliations, and workflows.
Prepare monthly accruals for legal, consulting, travel and expense, marketing, payroll-related, and tax liabilities.
Manage operating expense allocations across departments, cost centers, and entities; maintain methodologies and supporting schedules and investigate variances.
Manage sales tax compliance activities, including Avalara nexus reporting and accruals.
Administer the corporate credit card program and reconcile card platforms including JPMorgan Chase, NAB, HSBC, City National Bank, and Ramp.
Administer lease accounting under ASC 842, including lease schedules, right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, monthly journal entries, and audit support.
Requirements
3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including monthly financial close experience.
Strong Excel skills and ability to independently build detailed workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Working knowledge of US GAAP and ability to research and document technical accounting conclusions.
Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience in the SaaS or software industry, including subscription revenue models.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Nice-to-Haves
Public company or public accounting experience, including Big Four or regional firm experience.
Hands-on NetSuite experience.
Experience with AI tools such as FloQast Transform, Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot.
FP&A collaboration, cost center reporting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
Experience using FloQast's close management and reconciliation platform.
