About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead finance for cloud accelerator compute spend, including budgeting, monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and financial plan maintenance.
  • Build and maintain detailed, bottoms-up financial models for accelerator infrastructure, including long-range forecasts, cost-driver analyses, and investment scenario modeling.
  • Develop expertise in compute contracts, pricing structures, and cost drivers; identify infrastructure optimization opportunities.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert and source of truth for compute capacity planning.
  • Support implementation and management of financial planning tools such as Pigment.
  • Analyze the economics and ROI of model training and research compute across training-run sizes, chip types, data, and related dimensions.
  • Partner with engineering and research teams to understand training and reinforcement-learning scaling and translate technical dynamics into financial frameworks.

Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to synthesize data into insights and develop complex financial operating models.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams to drive financial optimization initiatives.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, business judgment, relationship-building, and process-management abilities.
  • Background in AI, machine learning, or high-performance, large-scale computing infrastructure, including data centers or cloud service providers.
  • Passion for integrating AI tools into finance workflows.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic finance, infrastructure investment, private equity, growth equity, consulting, or investment banking, preferably involving infrastructure, data centers, or technology infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure financial management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
  • MBA or other advanced degree in finance, economics, or business.
  • Expertise in cloud service provider economics, contract structures, and pricing models.
  • Experience with chip architecture economics and optimization strategies.
  • Proficiency with financial modeling tools and languages, including SQL, Python, and Excel.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary: $190,000–$240,000 USD.
  • Hybrid policy: Staff are expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more office time.
  • Visa sponsorship may be available.
