Member of Technical Staff, Enterprise Foundations
Build end-to-end enterprise foundation capabilities spanning backend systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, identity, authorization, billing, encryption, and customer deployments. The role requires production backend or distributed-systems experience, cloud expertise, and comfort owning ambiguous cross-functional work with enterprise customers.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Own foundational capabilities end to end, from data models and APIs through the control plane, runtime, SDK/CLI, and console.
- Migrate live systems onto new primitives without disrupting production traffic.
- Design organization and sub-account models, groups, roles, service identities, federation, and provisioning.
- Build multi-tenant authorization, policy enforcement, and audit systems for enterprise security requirements.
- Develop accurate, transparent usage metering, spend controls, and billing systems.
- Own data isolation and customer-managed encryption keys across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Deploy and operate Fireworks inside customer clouds while addressing data residency and regional isolation.
- Use AI tooling to automate development workflows.
- Work directly with customers and own ambiguous, cross-team workstreams from requirements through production.
Requirements
- 2+ years building and operating production backend or distributed systems at scale.
- Strong server-side engineering skills in Go, Python, C++, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Experience designing APIs and data models used by other teams and evolving them under live traffic without breaking callers.
- Hands-on depth with at least one major cloud platform, including IAM, workload identity, KMS, object storage, and VPC networking.
- Ability to work beyond a primary technical layer to deliver complete features.
- Willingness to work directly with customers.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building for regulated enterprises, including SOC 2 and customer security reviews.
- Enterprise identity and tenancy experience with SSO, SCIM provisioning, RBAC/ABAC, audit logging, and organization modeling.
- Experience with metering, quotas, or billing systems where correctness is customer-visible.
- Applied cryptography and key management experience, including envelope encryption, KMS, and threat modeling.
- Kubernetes expertise and infrastructure-as-code fluency, including Terraform and GitOps.
- Familiarity with LLM inference and fine-tuning.
Benefits and Company Information
- Work on AI infrastructure challenges including low-latency inference and scalable model serving.
- Collaborate with engineers and AI researchers on technology used by businesses and developers globally.
