NODA AINODA AI

Systems Software Integration Engineer

Integrates NODA’s autonomy orchestration platform with Taiwanese vehicle, sensor, and autonomy systems, debugging issues across software, middleware, networking, embedded Linux, and RF. Requires 4–8 years of systems or robotics software experience, C++ and/or Python proficiency, and professional fluency in English and Traditional Mandarin Chinese.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain adapters and translation layers connecting NODA's autonomy orchestration platform to Taiwan partner vehicle platforms, sensors, and third-party autonomy stacks.
  • Own end-to-end integration testing, from bench bring-up through HITL/SITL validation before live field deployment.
  • Debug cross-system issues spanning application software, messaging middleware, networking, embedded Linux, and RF; own investigations through resolution.
  • Interface with partner firmware and BSP teams to isolate failures at the hardware/software boundary.
  • Act as NODA's primary technical interface in Taiwan with OEMs, government partners, hardware vendors, and field teams in English and Mandarin.
  • Characterize system behavior under degraded, intermittent, or contested link conditions.
  • Translate partner and field requirements into system constraints for the U.S. engineering team; maintain Interface Control Documents and integration contracts.
  • Build observability into integration components through logging, tracing, and metrics.
  • Support field exercises validating NODA's platform in live conditions.
  • Travel within Taiwan for field exercises and partner or military deployments.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful work in systems integration, middleware, drivers, or robotics software.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python, with production-quality coding experience.
  • Working knowledge of embedded Linux and operating-system constructs, including process scheduling, IPC, and device architecture.
  • Fluency with pub-sub middleware such as Zenoh or comparable technologies, including routing, key-expression patterns, and latency behavior in distributed multi-agent contexts.
  • Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, multicast, and basic routing.
  • Working familiarity with RF and wireless concepts, including link quality, interference, and basic link-budget reasoning.
  • Ability to debug across application, middleware, network, and hardware-adjacent layers.
  • Experience with Linux systems and command-line debugging tools.
  • Professional fluency in English and Traditional Mandarin Chinese.
  • Legal authorization to work in Taiwan without employer sponsorship.
  • Eligibility to access export-controlled technology and comply with applicable U.S. export control laws, Taiwan regulations, and government security requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with vehicle-control protocols and autopilot software such as MAVLink, ArduPilot, or PX4.
  • Experience integrating autonomous systems or unmanned vehicles, including UAVs, UGVs, or USVs.
  • Experience with real-time or low-latency messaging middleware such as DDS, ROS/ROS2, ZeroMQ, or MQTT.
  • Sensor integration experience with LIDAR, cameras, IMUs, GNSS, or EO/IR systems.
  • Experience with HITL/SITL pipelines or sim-to-field validation workflows.
  • Prior work in Taiwan defense or government-adjacent programs.
  • Familiarity with GCS/C2 tools such as ATAK, QGroundControl, or Mission Planner.
  • Experience authoring ICDs, requirements traceability, or integration test plans.
  • Exposure to tactical radios, MANET, or mesh networking.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive salary.
  • Equity grants for eligible employees.
  • Comprehensive National Health Insurance coverage, including medical, dental, and vision care.
  • Pension plan with employer contributions.
