Responsibilities
- Partner with research and engineering teams to advance AI model development across training, reasoning, evaluations, compute, research infrastructure, safety, model launch readiness, and governance.
- Translate evolving research priorities into actionable programs and drive coordinated execution across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Navigate technical and operational tradeoffs, investigate emerging issues, and keep complex initiatives moving.
- Engage directly with research workflows, experimental results, technical systems, engineering constraints, and operational processes.
- Introduce effective structure without unnecessary process and improve researcher effectiveness.
- Scrutinize evidence, evaluation results, and execution plans to maintain a high quality bar.
- Communicate clearly with researchers, engineers, and organizational leaders.
- Take ownership of ambiguous, technically complex problems and follow them through to resolution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in research program management, technical program management, or related roles in fast-moving environments.
- Ability to engage substantively with researchers and engineers on model training, experimental design, model safety, evaluation methods, data workflows, compute infrastructure, or distributed systems.
- Comfort working directly with technical tools, research data, experimental results, or operational workflows to understand problems and develop practical solutions.
- Track record of advancing complex, ambiguous technical initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to distinguish known information from uncertainty, ask incisive technical questions, and support sound decisions with incomplete information.
- Clear communication across technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Adaptability, ownership, and commitment to responsible AI research.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $239,000–$328,000.
- Hybrid work model with three days per week in the office.
- Relocation assistance is available for new employees.
