Senior Software Engineer, Perception, Machine Learning/Computer Vision
Senior ML engineer building perception systems for autonomous vehicles at Nuro. Apply SOTA deep learning to detection, tracking, sensor fusion and intent prediction; own problems from POC through onboard deployment and monitoring. Requires recent autonomous driving ML experience plus strong Python/C++ skills.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Apply expertise in machine learning to solve challenges in the autonomy stack, including detection with sensor fusion, tracking, fine-grained classification, and human intent understanding.
- Be involved in all stages of problem solving: initial proof of concept, model iteration, onboard deployment, and on-road performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Develop techniques and/or processes to train models that utilize massive scale of data while keeping onboard latency in check for deployability.
- Take ownership of novel problems and go deep on them.
Requirements
- Recent experience applying state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to autonomous driving problems, such as modern object detection models, sensor fusion, and multi-task learning.
- Strong ML fundamentals with demonstrated experience building and expanding model architectures.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with demonstrated experience in both high and low-level languages (Python and C++).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience deploying models in real-time environments.
- Experience optimizing architectures to explore the accuracy vs. compute tradeoff.
- Experience productizing ML models and the supporting infrastructure (data, large-scale training, evaluation, etc.).
Compensation
- Base pay range: $183825 - $275975 per year (depends on experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills).
- Eligible for annual performance bonus, equity, and competitive benefits package.
