Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and continuously improve the analytics engine powering the core product.
- Productize AI, machine learning, and data analysis capabilities.
- Develop tools, techniques, and architecture for high-performance computing.
- Build new features and solve problems spanning software engineering, data visualization, and scientific computing.
- Architect, maintain, and optimize distributed and parallel computing systems.
- Design scalable, performant software solutions.
- Write maintainable, testable code and uphold code quality.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Document implementation tradeoffs and provide or receive actionable feedback.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building scientific or quantitative data-intensive software.
- Expertise with the scientific Python stack, object-oriented development, test-driven development, vectorized code, and machine learning.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with evolving ML and AI operations tooling.
- Knowledge of software architecture and scalable system design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a STEM field.
- Thorough knowledge of Linux.
- Experience with Celery and MongoDB.
- Belief in the scientific method and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
Compensation
- Salary range: $175,000–$250,000 USD.
